Trócaire, the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland, organises annually a Lenten Lecture at St Patrick’s College (Maynooth, Ireland).

On Thursday 5th March 2015, Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, was the guest speaker of the Lenten Lecture 2015.

His lecture, entitled 'Integral ecology and the horizon of hope: concern for the poor and for creation in the ministry of Pope Francis' was followed by a response given by Dr Lorna Gold, Head of Policy and Advocacy in Trócaire.
